چکیده

Abstract Background To report sampling of the trabecular meshwork using TrabEx+ (MicroSurgical Technology, Redmond, Washington, USA) device in ab interno trabeculectomy. Specifically, this series focusses upon preservation architecture for assessment glaucomatous features common histopathological techniques. Patients This six eyes undergoing with or without cataract surgery. Three patients had primary open angle glaucoma and remaining pigment dispersion glaucoma, ocular hypertension uveitic glaucoma. Four simultaneous Methods Trabecular was excised retrieved vitreoretinal forceps. The samples were then processed into formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded 4 micron tissue segments stained haematoxylin eosin, periodic acid–Schiff elastin Van Gieson. Collagen IV labelled immunohistochemistry purpose identifying basement membrane beams. Results Presence confirmed five taken. One consisted blood only, but expected following early termination procedure due to patient restlessness. In positive cases beams associated cells identified on hematoxylin-eosin staining. retained their lamellar structure. underlying evident three specimens, whilst two specimens insufficient size collagen labelling. Conclusions case illustrates that can be utilised successfully retrieve sufficient architectural perseveration enable laboratory analysis.

Calf Trabecular Meshwork

Superoxide dismutase and catalase activities have been measured in cell-free extracts of calf trabecular meshwork, and for comparison, in calf iris, retina, lens, liver, and erythrocytes. Gel electrophoresis has been used to identify isozymes of each enzyme. The superoxide dismutase and catalase activities per milligram wet weight of calf trabecular meshwork, 0.184 and 0.884 U/mg wet wt, respec...

Trabecular meshwork and outflow

Core Concepts • iOP elevation results from increased outflow resistance in the outflow pathways: the trabecular meshwork (TM) and the uveoscleral pathway. • steady-state iOP is found in normal eyes where iOP builds up in response to inflow of aqueous humour to the level sufficient to drive fluid across the resistance of the outflow pathways. • in most glaucomatous eyes, the resistance of the ou...

Nodular Dystrophy of the Trabecular Meshwork.

THE description of the microscopic structure of individual trabecular fibres given by Salzmann (1912) has been accepted for many years, and it is only as a result of recent electron microscopic studies that his classical concepts have had to be modified. The principle modification concerns the finer structure of the "clear" zone which lies beneath the trabecular endothelium and surrounds the ce...

sCD44 internalization in human trabecular meshwork cells.

PURPOSE To determine whether soluble CD44 (sCD44), a likely biomarker of primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG), is internalized in cultured human trabecular meshwork (TM) cells and trafficked to mitochondria. METHODS In vitro, 32-kD sCD44 was isolated from human sera, biotinylated, and dephosphorylated. TM cells were incubated for 1 hour at 4°C with biotinylated albumin (b-albumin), biotin-label...

Surgery on the Trabecular Meshwork: Histopathological Evidence

Juxtacanalicular (JXT) trabecular meshwork and endothelial lining of Schlemm's canal have been cited as the loci of aqueous outflow resistance, both in a normal as well as a glaucomatous eye. In this review, we attempt to understand the currently available surgical modalities in light of the available histopathological evidence, regarding localization of outflow resistance. How to cite this art...
